The GURU Academy enjoyed a fantastic week on the road in Denver – hosting our first-ever Mile High Training courses at Define Cycling in Denver!
Hosted by Mat Steinmetz & Dave Ripley from 51 Speedshop, each course focused on advanced TT/Tri fitting technique. The GURU Team would like to congratulate our newest GURU-certified fitters:

Members of the GURU Academy Advisory (Mat Steinmetz, Dave Ripley, Jonathan Blyer) utilize a cyclocross-specific fitting protocol to optimize each rider’s position for the most demanding cyclocross courses.
GURU works with the athletes and team staff to ensure that all fit coordinates are accurately replicated on the team’s bikes – and will continue to collaborate with the riders on changes made throughout the season.

We had a fantastic time hosting our first-ever fit training session in Thailand – welcoming local fitters and retailers to Thai Access Bike in Bangkok! The GURU team was joined by Winstom Tam from Friday Bikefit and GURU Academy Advisor – one of the premier bike fitting experts in Southeast Asia.

The GURU team recently hosted the entire Cannondale-CyclocrossWorld Team for fit sessions at the GURU Academy during their training camp to prepare for the upcoming ‘cross season!
Members of the GURU Academy Advisory worked with each of the team’s riders to optimize their positions for cyclocross racing – including Mat Steinmetz & Dave Ripley from 51 Speedshop, and Jonathan Blyer from ACME Bicycle Co.

The Tour de France is won and lost in time trials. With less than 45 km of time trial riding in the 2015 edition, it is critical for every rider to perform at the highest possible level in the race against the clock.
The GURU team worked with Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling to optimize their time trial position prior to the start of grand tour season – creating an optimal balance of aerodynamic efficiency, power output and comfort.
Following their GURU fit sessions, the athletes put their new positions to the test on the track – monitoring key rider outputs to ensure maximum performance on race day.

GURU would like to thank all attendees who visited the GURU Academy for the first-ever F.I.S.T. East training course! This exclusive class marked the first time that Dan Empfield, founder of F.I.S.T. and slowtwitch.com, has hosted a class away from his “compound” in California.
Jonathan Blyer, owner of ACME Bicycle Co. and GURU Academy Adviser, joined Empfield in teaching this 3-day course – featuring extensive discussion of F.I.S.T. fit philosophy and hands-on fitting practice. Take a look at this gallery from an exciting training session at the GURU Academy.

The Best Buddies Challenge is less than 2 months away – a beautiful 100-mile ride from Boston to Hyannis Port out on the Cape to raise money for a worthy cause.
